Today was my last session with my speech teacher Shannon. I will get a new teacher in a few months but I will really miss Shannon. It was a fun time! We played with this cool farm set and I had a great time throwing the animals over the barn. Then we went to the motor room so I could play, but there was this very cute little girl in there and all I wanted to do was watch her! But after she left I did crawl through the barrel to get to my ST. Then when we left I had to wave to all the cute girls that work there cause they all love me so much.

The rest of the day I was kinda cranky cause I didn't get a good nap. The guys came to put in our new air conditioner and now we won't be hot anymore! Me and Daddy did get a chance to play together a bunch so that was good! Tommorow I am going over to Grandma Jan's, hope I am in a better mood!!

I was in a pretty good mood today! Mommy didn't even try me with that shopping cart, she is a wise woman. She won't seem to give up on this whole "straw" thing though and it is starting to annoy me, but just a little! Today while me and Portia were standing on the sofa looking out the window I decided to try and pet her. I did really good, I tried to touch her just using my pointer finger so I definately would not pull her hair. It didn't work too well cause every time I reached out for her she growled at me and snapped! She has a pretty good memory I guess. Oh well, I still think it is pretty funny when she growls at me! Maybe soon she will start trusting me again and we can be friends. I already share all my food with her!

My PT came over today. She says I am standing much straighter and better than I was last week. She brought over this cool big green ball and I had a great time playing with it. We rolled it back and forth, it was lots of fun. I am still not sure about her so I do have to take quite a few cuddle breaks with Mommy. I think sometimes it bugs Mommy that I only want to cuddle with her to get out of therapy!

Well, I don't like to walk behind my shopping cart anymore! I don't know what it is but that thing just really freaks me out all of the sudden. It is okay though because I am still very happy to walk holding Mommy's hands. Mommy said that it is okay if I take a break from the "independent" walking for a while. Maybe I like walking with Mommy better cause I can totally control where we go, I am getting pretty good at turning her and making her walk in the direction I want to go.

My speech teacher came over today. It was fun! She gave me two options to choose from "book" and "bubbles", their pictures were on little laminated pieces of paper. Of course I chose both and had a great time playing with the papers...apparently that wasn't the point though. I still got to get bubbles and read a book, so Quinn wins again!!!

Grandma Donna stopped by for just a little while tonight. We cuddled and I played with her necklace. Grandma Donna wears the best necklaces!!!

Today was our day off, no appointments!!! Unfortunately I was very cranky and couldn't enjoy my free day to the fullest. We ran out of poop powder (Miralax) for a few days so my tummy wasn't feeling so good and I had a really bad poop. But the good news is we have a new bottle and I feel much better now!

Mommy decided to try getting me to drink from a straw again today. It went okay. I didn't freak out when she put it in my mouth like I used to. And when she squirted the water in my mouth I swallowed it about half the time. We'll see how it goes but for today it was alright.

I was in a cranky mood so I didn't want to walk behind my shopping cart, I did walk holding hands a bit though. When Daddy got home he put the batteries in my ball popper and that is the coolest toy! When you push the button all these little balls start flying into the air and bounce around...too cool! I also had a good time playing in the mirror today. I was using my toys to play peek-a-boo with myself!

Today was not so much fun... I had to go to the doctor for my 2 year checkup. I realized where we were right away so I made it clear to Mommy that I was not happy about it! They poked and prodded me and even gave me a shot!!! It sucked! The good part is that the doctor said I was doing great. I only gained a little weight in the last 6 months, but that is normal. I weigh about 23.5 pounds, but Mommy says it sure feels like more when she is carrying me! The doctor said I am the perfect size for me and that I am definately eating all I need to. Mommy worries about that sometimes. I still need a blood test to check my thyroid, but when that is done I am all finished for the next six months....yay!

I took an extra long nap cause I always do that after a shot. Then I got up and played with Mommy and Daddy. I got another birthday card in the mail today, it was from my friend Ally from online! She put a cool shrinky dink necklace in the card from me and that was great! She also put sparkly stickers all over the envelope, what a great idea. I am so lucky to have so many special friends from all over the world...this card came all the way from Canada!!!

Another great day!!! I slept in cause yesterday was so busy and I was really worn out. After I got up we went over to Grandma Jan's house and went out to lunch with Uncle Scott! It was a really fun afternoon and I had a great time playing with Uncle Scott. He is lots of fun to play with and I bet he will make a great daddy when his baby gets here!

When I got up from my nap Daddy had put together my new Little Tykes Shopping Cart! That thing is the coolest. I really like playing with the wheels and also flipping the baby seat part up and down. The best part about it is that I can walk behind it really well! I can even do it with no help at all from Mommy!!! It goes the perfect speed and is just the right height! I walked back and forth across the living room using it a couple of times with a little help from Mommy and then she let me try on my own and it was so easy! Watch out world, here I come.....and I might just run you over with my shopping cart!!!! :)

Today was so much fun! But boy am I tired! We went over to Grandma Donna's house to have my birthday party and it was great. Lots of people were there...Grandma Berta, Uncle Randy, Uncle Ben, Aunt Becky, Cousin AJ, Cousin Jeffery, Uncle Scott, and both set of Grandparents of course. I was a little overwhelmed by all the people, that is a lot of people!!! I showed everyone how I can walk holding hands and how well I climb the stairs, and of course I showed them how cute I am!!! We opened presents but I was tired so I wasn't that into it. I got lots of new clothes for the summer, some great books, lots of cool new toys, and a shopping cart to help me learn to walk!!! It was great!

Mommy made me a catapillar cake but I didn't eat it cause I don't like cake! It was cool to look at though, and I got to eat ice cream...yum-o!!! There were lots of ballons cause it was a party and I had a great time playing with them. I especially liked when they would get loose and float up high to the ceiling and Cousin Jeffrey and Cousin AJ would go get them....that was cool!!! All in all it was a really fun birthday!

Today was a very busy day! We got up early and went to Speech. I decided to show Mommy what terrible twos are all about and spit my breakfast all over her! She didn't appreciate it one bit! I was a good boy at Speech though. We played and I talked a bunch. I even let my speech teacher close my mouth to pop a bubble today!! I haven't let her do that all semester! Usually when she brings the bubble stick towards my mouth I open it real wide cause it looks like she is feeding me, but today I relaxed my chin and let her close my jaw. I am pretty sad though cause I love my speech therapist and we only have one more session together and then I get a new one!! I will really miss Shannon, I hope the new one is just as nice.

After we rushed home and had a short nap we had to go to Mommy's doctors appointment. We had to wait a really long time there, but I was a very good boy. Mommy is doing good so that is all that really matters. Besides, there was a pretty little girl in the waiting room and I couldn't keep my eyes off of her!! What a cutie! She thought I was pretty cute too, but older women aren't for me. My heart belongs to my Mommy anyway, so too bad for all those cute girls out there!!!

Tommorow is my big party! I can't wait to see my family and get all my presents!

I am officially two years old!!! I don't feel different, and I looked in the mirror and I don't look different, but Mommy says it is a big deal so I believe her. I had a great day! When we got up this morning there was a card waiting for me from Grandma Donna and there were cookies inside! Then my teacher came over and she brought me a birthday present, it is a really cool peek-a-boo book! She had a bunch of paperwork to do with Mommy so we didn't play much today. I kept trying to get her papers but Mommy said no!

When I got up from my nap there was a message for me on the answering machine from Great Grandma Berta! I really liked listening to her talk to me and wish me a happy birthday. Then my PT came over and she sang Happy Birthday to me, she really likes to sing! Mommy and me showed off how good I am at walking and she was amazed! The new PT is a really nice lady, but she is always underestimating me, I will just have to show her what I am made of!!! Anyway, she said my walking looked great and that my standing and cruising were much better too. A lot can happen in a week!!!

Today was a great day! Mommy says that on Saturday we are really going to celebrate my bithday and it is gonna be even better! I can't wait!!!!!

Quinn's Second Year

Today was a busy day! I had speech in the morning and OT in the afternoon. Speech was pretty fun and I talked a bunch, which made my speech teacher happy. A bubble popped right in my eye while we were blowing bubbles and boy did that sting!!! I got over it pretty quick though, that has never happened before. OT went pretty good too, we scribbled with markers and they work much better than crayons! I made lots of marks this time, some on the paper, but mostly on my hands and face. Mommy says thank goodness for washable markers!

I did some good walking today! We walked into the kitchen and Mommy showed me how to let Portia back in from outside. I pushed the door and she ran right past me, it was cool. Mommy says when I get really good at walking I will make a great helper! I also tried walking with my walker wagon today and it went pretty good. I walked across the living room twice! Mommy had to hold the wagon so it wouldn't go too fast or too slow (if it is too slow I just sit down), but it let me walk without holding hands so that was really good.

Tommorow is a very big day!!! I am turing two years old!!!! I do wish my birthday was on a weekend cause Mommy couldn't arrange for me to have the day off. But that is okay, I am having a really special birthday party on Saturday and I can't wait!!!!!

After I had breakfast this morning me and Mommy took a nice walk around the kitchen! She said as long as I stayed on my feet I could finally go in there (she never lets me crawl in there!). So I walked, with help from Mommy, from my highchair to the kitchen and then into the living room. No problem, I can still do it really well and Mommy thought it was a fluke! The kitchen was really fun cause she let me open some of the cabinets and I got to check out the front of the refrigerator!

It was a pretty fun day all around. I climbed up on the sofa in my room all alone twice! I figured out how to get down from the bottom step of the stairs without hurting myself, which is really good. Usually I just fall backwards off of it and hit my head! I got a birthday card in the mail from Grandma Jan and Mommy let me open it early. It was really cool and had glitter all over it so now I have glitter all over me! First Portia tried to take the card from me, but then she realized that Grandma doesn't put treats in my cards. I also got a late Easter gift from Grandma Jan, it was a cool egg with a little Elmo train in it, I had a really good time playing with the train and the egg!!!

What a day we had today!!! We went to see Pat Winders and I decided that today was the day that I was gonna start trying to walk! So when Pat tried to get me to take a few steps, I did, and I did a pretty good job of it too. The thing with Pat is that when I am on a roll she likes to see just how far I can go. Well, I went, went, went! I walked over 100 feet today while holding her hands and sometimes even only holding one hand! Usually I am really tense about the whole walking thing but today I decided to have no fear. I was really relaxed and Pat said it was great how I didn't walk on my toes or anything. We walked all around the PT department and I had a great time checking out the new toys and seeing new people. I didn't cry, scream, pull my legs up or sit down once!!! Mommy said she was soooo proud of me (once she got over the shock!).

Usually when PT is over we go right home, but today we had a flat tire!!!! Mommy said she would have been much more upset about it if I hadn't had such a great session. I am glad I could help. So we waited for Daddy to come change the tire and we got to hang out in the lobby, which we never do. It was great! They had this really big long fishtank that was right on my level. There was this neat fish in there that was following me around and trying to kiss me through the glass. Me and that fish had a nice long conversation, we really bonded! They sure have a neat lobby at that place, I wish every doctors office had something like that!

Tommorow we don't have anything planned, but Mommy said we are definately gonna practice some more walking! I think she is worried that today was just a fluke....we will see!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today was officially Easter but we didn't do anything special. Mommy said it can't be Easter if there is no ham, and there was no ham...so now I am confused! Well it was Easter enough for me cause I got to play with my Easter gifts from Grandma Jan. I had a great time with the bead maze and Mommy and me read all four books in the set Grandma gave me. I really liked them, they had pictures of animals and on each page there was a place to touch. Mommy would show me where to touch and I would do it, she said I did a really good job!

It was a fun day. Daddy and me spent a bunch of time playing and then Mommy and me had a tickle-fest on the sofa...it was great!

I had a good time today! First I totally amazed Daddy by getting up onto the sofa in my room all by myself! Mommy knew I could do that already, but she forgot to tell Daddy. This afternoon I got to go Grandma Jan's house. They let me crawl around in the grass in the backyard and I got soooo dirty. I had the best time doing it though, I can't believe Portia gets to do that everyday! Of course since I was so dirty I had to have a bath (something about Grandmas is they really like to give me baths), I didn't mind it was fun! Grandpa Don took me on a couple of long walks around the neighborhood because it was such a nice day.

I also got an easter basket and a bunch of gifts! There were plastic eggs with cookies inside. A new set of books. Two new outfits for summer. A cookie shaped like a chick. A chocolate bunny (I let Grandpa eat it though, I wasn't interested). And a cool bead maze toy! I think that was it, I am probaby forgetting something. It was lots of fun getting gifts and Mommy says I am gonna get even more next week cause it is my birthday!

Wow, today was great!!! Grandma Donna got here right after I woke up and I got to spend almost all day with her! I was so excited to see her and we had lots of fun. She came over to help Mommy with the house and since I am such a good boy I helped too! She reorganized all my toys and I helped by pulling them back out and playing with them. Then she tried to fold some of my laundry and I helped her by grabbing stuff out of the laundry basket and then throwing it back in!! Then she fed me lunch (carrots, yuck) so I helped her by making her white shirt turn orange!! She really didn't seem to appreciate that help very much.

Then she and Mommy got out some of my old clothes from when I was a little baby. It is hard to believe I ever fit in such tiny little onsies. Mommy couldn't believe it either and looked like she was gonna cry for some reason. They kept saying that they were "Cooper's" clothes but no way, those clothes are mine!!! After Grandma left I had dinner and played a bit, but I was so worn out from my fun day that I went to sleep early.

Tommorow I get to see Grandma Jan and Grandpa Don!! I can't wait!!!

I have been getting very frustrated with things lately. Like when I want to go upstairs but can't cause Mommy won't open the gate for me. And then today I was playing with my book that plays music and says nursery rhymes, I couldn't get the page to turn so I got really mad. Mommy thinks I am starting to have temper tantrums, but it isn't that bad yet. I just get really angry and yell! But then I get over it pretty quick....it is definately something new though. It must be cause I am almost 2!!!

My PT came over today and I did pretty good. She says I am getting better at bending my knees and I even took a few steps to get to Mommy. I am still not that comfortable with the new PT so I try to get to Mommy every chance I get! Today was pretty fun but tommorow will be funner! Daddy is staying home and Grandma Donna is coming over!!! Yay!!!

Wow, another day with no therapy and no appointments! I have to admit it is getting a little boring around here with no one coming over to see me. Today Mommy and me worked on asking for bubbles. It didn't go well, why should I ask for more bubbles when Mommy obviously knows I want more bubbles? After all they are my favorite thing in the whole world!!! Mommy also tried to get me to walk again today for the first time in a long time. No way!!! I thought she had figured out I didn't want to walk but she was just faking me out. Well, Mommy, I have a very good memory and no, I still don't want to walk.

Today I wanted to climb up the stairs but Mommy said it wasn't time to go upstairs. When she wouldn't open the gate I got very mad! I was babbling a lot and tried to sound really angry, but she didn't get it. She said if I said "Up, Up, Up" we could go upstairs. If only it were that easy! So instead I went over and played with my ballon, yup..it is still floating after all of these days!

Too bad clearing off the coffee table isn't a milestone, cause I have totally mastered it! Mommy knows I am gonna throw all the mail, remote controls, and magazines on the floor, but she can't seem to stop herself from putting them on the table. I love it when there is a really messy table and I can clear the whole thing!

I had a fun day. I actually got to play with Portia a little. I think she is getting used to me. I let her lick my feet and it tickled so much it made me giggle! She is a really good doggie. I just wish I could jump and run like she does, it looks like so much fun. Plus, she can get up on the sofa all by herself to look out the window, I still need Mommy's help. Oh well, soon I will be tall and stong enough to get wherever I want, then you all better watch out!!!

Today was cool. It was a typical day off. We slept in and played and watched TV. I was really happy to see that my balloon is still going strong and I played with it a bunch. It is a really strong balloon cause even though I grab it and squeeze it, it doesn't pop! I watched my second new Baby Signing Time DVD and I really liked it! That is some good entertainment! Sometimes I like to stand really close to the TV and grab at the cute babies on the screen.

As usual I went over to the magazine basket and pulled a bunch of them out. But this time I put almost all of them back in, all by myself!! Mommy didn't even have to ask this time!!! See Mommy, I do listen to you eventually!

Today was family hang out day! We all just hung around the house all day long. Me and Daddy played together a bunch and watched some TV together too. I had a great time playing with my new ballon all day long! I love pulling on the string and making the ballon go up and down. Mommy tried to teach me how to say ballon, but who is she kidding! I am not ready for such a big word yet. I tried to play with Portia today with one of her toys but it got a little rough. She scratched my face, but it was an accident...she didn't mean to! I am fine, even though Mommy over-reacted. I am a little boy, I am gonna get scratches all the time...just wait until I start walking!

The really good news is that it is Spring Break this week! That mean me and Mommy have almost the whole week off. I just have one PT appointment on Thursday and that is it!!! That will be nice cause we had a very busy week this week. And Mommy says Grandma Donna may even come over on Friday...yippee!

I got to go over to Grandma Jan's house today! It was so much fun! We went to the supermarket and I saw this ballon I really wanted. So I showed Grandma and she bought it for me!!! Then we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. I said hi, but then I decided I didn't really like him. We had dinner at the food court and I got pizza, it was sooo yummy!!!

It was a really fun day. I was so worn out by the end of it I didn't even open my eyes when Mommy and Daddy came to pick me up, I was too tired!

I was in a great mood today! I woke up laughing and was giggly almost all day. We went to speech therapy this morning and it was raining really hard. On the ride there I kept laughing because I thought the rain was so funny. I had a great session with my therapist. I remembered how last time I would push her hands together and she would make a big "boom" sound. So I did it again today and it worked! That really cracked me up too.

When we got home I took a nap and then we played a bunch. I kept wanting to look out the window then changing my mind and getting down to play. There was just too much fun to be had!!! Tommorow I get to go to Grandma Jan's house, can't wait!

We had a very busy day today! Thankfully none of the appointments were mine...they were all Mommy's. First we went to the doctor and the put this thing on Mommy's stomach. Mommy kept saying "See your little brother?", but all I saw was some fuzzy black and white thing....no little brother in sight! After that we went to the hospital and they took some of Mommy's blood. I was a little worried at first that they wanted mine, but not this time. Mommy didn't cry like I do, but she did say a bad word!!! I guess it really hurt!

Then the best part of the day, we went out to lunch with Grandma Donna! We went to Red Robin, I had chicken fingers and it was really fun. They didn't have any ballons though! I guess they only have those at night.

After that we had to go back to the hospital and Mommy got a big shot in her arm. It looked like it really hurt, but Mommy didn't curse this time....I think I saw a tear though. It was a long day and I had to spend most of it in my stroller, which I hate. But Mommy made it okay by tickling me lots and giving me teddy grahms too.

Tommorow all we have is speech and then I have the whole weekend off! Yay!!!

My speech teacher came over this morning! It was fun seeing her since she didn't come last week. She brought a picture of bubbles so that when I want bubbles I can just give her, or Mommy, or anyone the picture and they will blow bubbles for me! I haven't decided if I am willing to do that yet, but it seems like a good idea. She also gave me a cherry flavored tounge depressor, she put it in my mouth to encourage me to close it and say "mmmm". I did cause I love cherry flavor! Mmmmm! I also talked a lot for her today which I don't usually do and she was pretty excited to hear it.

This afternoon my OT came over. It was a busy day. We worked on puzzles and they are harder now cause now all the pieces are missing and I have to pick where to put a piece myself! I also pulled apart pop beads and plastic easter eggs. We tried drawing and I did makes some marks with a crayon. I did not want to crumple up tissue paper though....it is more fun when it is in a big piece!

The best part of the day was that Grandma Donna stopped by to drop some stuff off right before I went to bed! I got to cuddle and play with her a little. She brought me the new Baby Signing Time DVD's that Grandpop Bill bought me! I can't wait to watch them!!!

I woke up early today, even though I didn't have too! I just wasn't tired cause I went to bed really early last night. Mommy wasn't too upset with me, she did say I was lucky I was so cute though. We had our usual morning and nap.

Then we went to see the Audiologist for a hearing test. Let me tell you, it was not fun!!! First I had to sit in a room and look at where the different sounds were coming from. That was easy and even fun cause when I looked things would light up and stuff. I did a really good job once I got the hang of it. Then we moved on to the tests where they put something in your ear! This is where the not fun part happened. I hate having people stick stuff in my ears! I know it doesn't hurt, but I just don't like it. So I cryed and struggled and pulled the things out of my ears. Finally, Mommy had to hold my arms down and the doctor held my head. It wasn't fun, but Mommy said it was important.

So it turns out my hearing is just fine! All of that and all they found out is that I hear perfectly! I could have told them that, well if I could talk I could have told them that. They said I have to come back for another test every 6 months. I guess I better get used to having people stick stuff in my ears!

Today was a good day. I watched Signing Time and played a whole bunch. I took all of the magazines out of their basket. Mommy said when I get a little older I am gonna have to put them back too, but we will see about that! For now I am happy to pull them out one by one, look at them, and them toss them over my shoulder onto the floor.

My PT came over today. We worked on me bending my knees more, which I really don't like to do. I was good though and did what she wanted. Afterwards I was so tired that while I was standing at the window I sat down, put my head on one of the sofa pillows, and closed my eyes. Mommy got the hint and put me down to sleep.

Daddy had to reinstall the gate on the stairs tonight. It fell on me and Mommy today! I had just crawled through and then quickly closed the gate behind me so Mommy couldn't get in (it is a little game we play all the time). But this time I wouldn't let her open it I was pulling so hard. Then it fell and Mommy blocked it from hitting me, but it hit her ankle really hard. We both cried for a few minutes but recovered quickly. Stupid gate! It tried to ruin our day!!! Now it has screws holding it to the wall, so it better not happen again!

I mostly hung out with Daddy today cause Mommy wasn't feeling great. That is okay with me though cause I love spending time with Daddy!!! We watched the Simpsons and played with my toys. I spent some time in my walker and tried over and over to get it into the kitchen. Unfortunately it won't fit through the doorway cause the fridge is blocking part of it. So I just reach as far as I can and grab stuff off the fridge to play with!

I looked out the window a bunch today. Cause it was Sunday and nice out there was lots to see. It was a pretty fun day. Mommy says we have a really busy week ahead of us and that I should relax and enjoy my day off! I decided to take her advice and had a fun and relaxing day!

I walked all the way across the living room myself today!!!!

APRIL FOOLS!!!!

I know that was mean, I hope I didn't give anyone a heart attack. I didn't walk today but I did crawl and climb all over! I was really hyper all day long. I couldn't stop playing, laughing, and getting into stuff.

This afternoon we went over to Grandma Jan's house and I cleared her coffee table off for her. She was fine with it while I was thowing Granpa Don's stuff on the floor, but when I went for hers she kept saying..."No!" Like I'm supposed to know what that means??? I also kept playing with her books, which she also didn't like. Time to childproof Grandma Jan! :) Grandpa took me for two walks and it was great. We looked at flowers and trees and stuff. Then we had pizza for dinner and I ate almost a whole piece by myself! Mommy says we will be eating lots of pizza once Cooper gets here....who is this Cooper anyway??? Sounds like a lot is gonna change when he arrives!

It was a great day. Tommorow I get to spend all day with Mommy and Daddy, sounds perfect!
