We had such a busy exciting weekend that I didn't even have time to update my blog! Here is a recap ...

On Saturday Grandma Jan and Grandpa Don came to pick me and Cooper up. They took us to a really fun party at the YMCA. Then we went back to their house for a nap and then to Friendly's for dinner. It was a really fun day! When we got home guess who was here? Great Grandma Berta! I totally love Grandma Berta so I was really excited to see her. She gave me two great books to read. She also gave Cooper a toy that plays the Itsy Bitsy Spider song and I love playing with that too. I push the buttons and then dance to the music!

Sunday was Grandma Donna's 50th birthday! Mommy worked really hard to give her a nice surprise party...but it turned out Grandma was the only one not surprised! She knew all along, Grandma Donna is so clever! It was still a great party and I got to see so many friends and family. I had a great time!

Great Grandma Berta was still here today so we played together a bunch today too! We all got surprised again this morning cause my teacher showed up and we weren't expecting her! It was okay cause we were all up, even if some of us were still in our PJs. I had a really good session with her and didn't cry at all! I did a really good job on the puzzle and also at sorting colors. Once again I amazed and impressed everyone in the room! People should have more faith in me!

Quinn was cranky so Uncle Randy tried out the colic hold. Apparently it works on toddlers too, but it is a lot harder on the arms!

I had so much fun today! This morning me and Mommy played hookey from movement class and went to a Halloween party instead. It was at Jack's house, the same kid I went to play with on Monday. There were tons of other kids there, but I went right for that doggie door as soon as we got there! I love that thing, it opens and closes and I can stick my head out and get some fresh air whenever I want. After I got my fill of the doggie door I went and played with all the kids. It was really great. There were trick or treat bags to decorate but I was too busy doing other stuff. Miss Becki gave me one of her sample bags to take home and she gave me a little thing of playdough to put in it! The party was much more fun than movement class would have been, I am so glad Mommy decided we could go!

This afternoon I went to speech at Loyola. It was fun and I did a good job. I made a "mmmm" sound when I was supposed to and when Miss Jennifer told me to crawl throught the tunnel in the motor room I really understood her and went and did it (even though I really wanted to climb up the slide again)! The ride home really sucked though cause we got stuck in traffic for a whole hour! When we got home Mommy unsnapped my carseat and I slid out all on my own....I just couldn't get out of that car fast enough!

Tonight Mommy showed me some of the videos of me from my blog. I am one handsome and talented guy! Maybe one day I can be on TV, "Life Goes On, the Quinn Years".

Mommy Art....when does she find the time to do this stuff???
Posted by Picasa
I had a really fun day today! Mommy brought some new toys home last night for Cooper, but I got to play with them too. I thought it was so cool when Cooper got in his new excersaucer. I went over and checked everything out. I liked it a lot because I got to stand face to face with Cooper and I never get to do that! Then I realized that the new toy is shaped kinda like a tunnel and decided to crawl through it! Mommy laughed because I disappeared and then all of the sudden Cooper started moving along the toy. It was cause I was crawling under him and taking him along with me! I also got to play with the new Snoopy that Grandma Donna got me. It was a fun day!

Yesterday we all got our Halloween cards in the mail. I really liked mine, Cooper wasn't sure what to do with his, and Portia totally went nuts for hers (it had a treat in it). Thanks Grandma Jan!

Today stared out kind of boring, but it got better eventually! Lindalee came over for PT but she didn't get the memo about me being on a strike against therapy. She actually expected me to work! So I threw a fit and ended up watching the Wiggles while her and Mommy talk. She said next week she is only going to play with Cooper and ignore me. Silly woman...those silly mind games won't work on me....or will they?

After she left Grandma Donna came over and we all went over to Shawna's house for dinner. Shawna is the nice lady who gives me all her son's old clothes. We stopped at the supermarket to pick up dinner first and boy was that fun! I loved sitting in the cart and looking around. I was totally facinated with the moving belt at the checkout line. It was a great place...I never get to go to the supermarket cause Mommy always has our groceries delivered. Too bad, I think I would really enjoy going to the supermarket every week!

Shawna's house was paradise! They have a fishtank, a three year old, and a dog! The dog kept bringing me his ball and I would throw it for him and he would bring it back. It was really fun! I wish Portia did that. We had dinner and I discovered I love potatoe salad! Then we went downstairs and watched a little Beauty and the Beast, that looks like an excellent movie! It was a really fun night and I was so worn out I fell asleep on the car ride home.

Monday, October 23, 2006

I was so not in the mood for therapy this morning! Both my teacher and my OT came over at the same time, and I just didn't want to have anything to do with them. They made me mad cause they said I couldn't throw stuff on the floor. I'm Quinn....I spend half my life throwing stuff on the floor, who are they to tell me to change??!! So I had a minor breakdown and ended up watching Barney instead of doing therapy.

This afternoon we went over to a new friend's house, it was soooo much fun! There was a little boy named Jack who is my age, and a little boy named Sam who is Cooper's age. The babies didn't do anything fun at all, but me and Jack explored, played with lots of toys, and even went outside! Jack is such a cool guy, he showed me all his toys and was really nice to me...even if he wouldn't share his golden beads with me, I still really liked him! The best part about Jack's house was the doggie door. I kept crawling into the kitchen so I could play with it. I never tried to crawl out, which really surprised Mommy, but I had a great time opening and closing it! I have to figure out how to tell Mommy that Portia needs one of those!!!

Sunday, October 22, 2006

Today was great, even though the Ravens didn't have a game. Mommy showed me this new video she got me "Brainy Baby ABC's", I totally loved it! It was just like starfall.com but on the TV and with better graphics. My nose was still runny but besides that I think I am all better.

We tried the walking wings and I don't think they are going to work. I am so big, it barely even fit me! Mommy took it off because she was worried it was going to rip. We might try one more time, but then they are going back. I'll walk when I am good and ready!!!

Saturday, October 21, 2006

I am feeling much better today! No messy diaper this morning! Mommy says it figures, since Daddy is in charge of my morning diapers on the weekend. My nose is only running a little bit so I think I am on the mend.

We went over to Grandma Jan's house today. I got into every single thing I wasn't supposed to! I am such a bad boy sometimes. I went on some walks with Grandpa Don and we played a bunch. We all went for a walk in Grandma Jan's double umbrella stoller but I don't like riding in the stroller when Grandpa Don is around...I like for him to carry me! Cooper liked it though.

Mommy said she bought me some Walking Wings so we will try them out tommorow. I am not sure I like the sound of them!

Thursday, October 19, 2006

When I woke up this morning I was still sick! Now I made Mommy sick too and we are being sick and miserable together. The worst part about being sick is that Grandma Donna and Grandpop Bill didn't come over like they were gonna! Grandpop was worried I was going to give them my cold too. Now I don't even get to go to Movement class tommorow or speech! How lame! Mommy says we have to stay home and rest and get better so we can still have a fun weekend.

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

I am still sick! Today my nose was running pretty bad and my diaper leaked again last night so I got another bath. But besides all that I feel great! We hung out and played all morning and then my speech teacher came over. I signed "book" for her 3 times!! That is my third sign! Now that Mommy taught me the "pat your head" part of "If your happy and you know it" that is all I do! All these different songs and signs are just a little confusing for me, but I will figure it out eventually.

The GI doctor called today and we got an appointment for December 1st. I am really not looking forward to that, but Mommy says I have to stop spitting up. We aren't going anywhere fun tommorrow cause I am sick, but Grandma Donna and Grandpop Bill are coming for dinner! That is all the fun I need!

Tuesday, October 17, 2006

I felt a little better when I woke up this morning, I think the humidifier helped. Unfortunately this cold seems to come with a stomach component and I have woken up with leaking diapers the last 3 days! I also have a nasty diaper rash...my first ever! Oh well, it doesn't really bother me.

My teacher came over this morning and I really showed off for her. I walked around with one hand held. I pointed to my eye. I even showed her how I clap in the right place for "Happy and you know it". Then I suprised her and Mommy by patting my head at the right place in the song! My teacher was really impressed with me!!! Then my PT came over this afternoon. We were supposed to meet at the park, but it was raining. That is okay, we still had a good time and I showed her how good I am getting at walking with one hand held.

I was supposed to go get a hearing test tommorow, but I got out of it! The insurance called and said they wouldn't cover it and Mommy doesn't really think I need it anyway. One hearing test a year is plenty...especially cause I hate them so much!!

Monday, October 16, 2006

We went to the doctor today. I thought we were just going for Cooper, but I was wrong! Everything was going great until that nice lady gave me a flu shot. I was having such a great time exploring the room and then I realized that Dr. Crawford left the door open a crack! I escaped and went exploring through the whole office. Mommy was holding Cooper so she couldn't do anything about it!

I was really brave when they gave me my shot. I didn't cry or anything! Then a few minutes later I got really cranky and cried my eyes out...oh well. After a nice long nap I was in a much better mood. Unfortunately I woke up with a cold today so I am still all snotty :(

Sunday, October 15, 2006

We watched lots of football today! Besides that I played a bunch and totally tore apart the living room. It was a fun day. Daddy tried to get me to walk behind my shopping cart, but I didn't want to. I wasn't really thinking so I pushed the cart away and I ended up standing for a few seconds! Yikes! Then I sat down really fast and hard...thank goodness for diapers, they give lots of padding.

I also had a great time reading the new books that Grandpa Don gave me last night. Me, Mommy, and Cooper all read one together and I helped by lifting all the flaps. Cooper just isn't old enough to do that himself yet.

Saturday, October 14, 2006

I got to hang out with Daddy all morning and then I went over to Grandma Jan's house. Guess what?? We went back to the mall! I didn't have to get my haircut this time so I didn't mind at all. Plus, when I go to the mall with Grandpa Don I don't have to stay in my stroller. I get to crawl all around and sometimes he carries me. I had a great time looking at myself in the 3-way mirror at JC Penneys! Then we went to the food court and I got nuggets and fries! That is one of my favorite meals! When we got home from the mall I got to play with Grandpa some more and sing some songs with Grandma. It was a great night!

Friday, October 13, 2006

This morning we went to my movement class and it was really fun as usual. I have been thinking about that "If you're happy and you know it" song a lot lately. I am happy, and I know how to clap my hands! So this morning when the teacher started singing that song and said "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands." I clapped my hands really hard. Then when she sang "If you're happy and you know it stomp your feet." I clapped my hands even harder. And when she sang "If you're happy and you know it pat your head." You guessed it...I clapped my hands again. Mommy thought it was funny, but I was just trying to participate...I will get it all someday.

This afternoon we went to speech at Loyola. It was really fun too. I did spit up on the slide though, sorry Jennifer! After speech we all went to the mall and I got my haircut. I was pretty good, not too squirmy. They had Sesame Street on the TV so that helped a lot. Mommy said I needed a haircut really bad because she noticed this morning that I was starting to get a mullet! The nice chinese lady told Mommy that my hair growing in a tail like that meant I would have a sibling. She showed the lady Cooper and said..."You're right!"..Then the lady asked if Cooper has a tail. I guess we have to wait for him to grow some more hair first. I do hope he has one cause I really want a baby sister someday!

Thursday, October 12, 2006

We didn't go anywhere today, Mommy said she needed a break! We played a bunch and I watched some TV. Mommy and me did a lot of walking today, mostly one handed. I also walked across the living room five times behind my shopping cart...all by myself!! It still makes me nervous, but I did a really good job controlling it. Plus when I was holding Mommy's hand I was barely even holding on. I think walking might be my present to Mommy for Christmas this year! We'll see...

This afternoon my speech teacher came over. We had a good time. We sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider together and read a book. She blew bubbles and I said "bu, bu, bu" when I wanted more. Tomorrow me and Mommy go to Movement Group and Speech at Loyola. Fridays used to be my day off...not anymore!!

Also, Mommy called the place where I am going to be doing horseback riding therapy today! They said I can't start until February, but I should be able to do it. Sounds like a ton of fun!

I had a great time at the Halloween party today! We got up, ate, got all dressed up in our costumes and walked up the street to the party. It was great! I was dressed as a firefighter and my costume fit perfectly. It was even easy to crawl around in, which was important cause I crawled around every inch of that party! There were lots of other kids there and they were all dressed up too! Even some of the mommies dressed up, but not mine...she is just too cool for that I guess. There was music and all the kids were dancing. I joined in from the sidelines then decided that wasn't good enough for me. I crawled right into the middle of the dance floor and danced with the other kids. Of course they were all standing up and dancing, but I do a pretty good job sitting down. There were bubbles and games and I got a sticker! My two favorite parts were playing with the sequin and fur purse I found and hiding under the food table. But I really like watching all the other kids too. It was a great party!

Two playgrounds in one day!!! Life is sweet!

This morning we went to a new playground and met up with some other kids and their moms. It was really great! I was so excited to be around so many other kids my age. I climbed up some slides, made a picture on the ground with some chalk, and swung in the swing. I thought the swing was the most exciting part, but Mommy thought the most exciting part was when I walked around only holding one of her hands! She was amazed that I did it, but I just want to be like all the other kids. Plus, I have discovered I really hate crawling on mulch! It was a great morning!

Then this afternoon we did PT in the playground up the street again. I was a good boy and showed Lindalee how I can walk pretty good only holding one hand. She was blown away! She said the only thing I was missing was motivation and we seem to have found that. I had much more fun on the swing when Lindalee pushed me...she makes me go much higher than Mommy does!!

Tommorow is the Halloween party. I tried on my firefighter costume tonight and it fits perfectly. As expected I won't leave the hat on my head...I like playing with it though!

Daddy had today off because this is the day we celebrate the Indians finding Columbus!

My OT came over this morning. We had lots of fun. I still won't stack blocks but today I did a really good job stringing beads. After she left I took a nap and then we all went to Sam's Club. It was really fun at Sam's Club, they had all kinds of neat toys and books there, but Mommy didn't buy me any. Just formula for Cooper! After that we went to Bob Evans for dinner. I had a great time there! I read the kids menu and colored on it with both a green and blue crayon. I also colored the wall next to me a little! Then I tried to eat the blue crayon so Daddy took it away. That was before my fries came. Once I saw those fries I didn't want to eat anything but them. They were extra yummy!

Sunday, October 08, 2006

We had a lazy Sunday. It was lots of fun and I didn't even have to change out of my PJs! I had a great time playing and tearing the living room apart. Me and Mommy danced together but this time we did it standing up, it was so much fun I didn't even realize she was making me stand and walk in little circles. The best part of my day was when Daddy brought the exersaucer back upstairs! I really miss playing with it and the first thing I did was crawl underneath it. Unfortunately it is now adjusted for little Cooper, so I kinda got stuck!

I am so excited cause Daddy has tommorow off too! I can't wait to spend the whole day with him!

Saturday, October 07, 2006

I am so glad that Grandma Jan reads my blog! She read the other day about how much fun I had at the play area at the mall, and today she and Grandpa Don took me back! I had the best time and I didn't even spit up at all this time. I climbed all over, played with a little girl, and got hit by a little boy. It didn't hurt at all, I kinda liked the attention! Then we went to the food court for dinner but all I wanted to eat was french fries.

This morning I went with Mommy and Daddy to the doctor so they could get shots...that was a change. Niether of them cried, but Mommy looked like she wanted to. Poor Mommy!

I had a great day and to top it all off Grandpa Don gave me this cool ball that lights up when you bounce it!!!

Friday, October 06, 2006

Today was really boring! It was raining out so we didn't go to my movement class. Then my speech teacher called and cancelled so we didn't end up going anywhere today. That is okay though, yesterday was so exciting I needed a day off.

Mommy kept trying to get me to sign "book" today. But I didn't really understand what she wanted so everytime she said "sign book" I pointed to my eye. I thought that was what she wanted and was pretty proud of myself. By the end of the day Mommy adjusted and would just say "where is your eye?". I think learning more than one thing a week is going to be too tough for me right now, I like to take things slow, you know?

Grandma Donna came over today, but just for a few minutes. She dropped off a new Halloween costume for me. I am going to be a fireman! Just like Uncle Adam used to be before he grew his beard and stopped cutting his hair!

Thursday, October 05, 2006

Today was so great!!! Grandma Donna came over and fed me breakfast and then we all went to my field trip at a farm. It was the greatest field trip ever! When we got there my teacher Dorothy was there and so was my old teacher Norma. Ms. Norma didn't even recognize me cause I have grown up so much since she last saw me. She was really impressed with how much hair I have now!

So I saw all kinds of cool animals like chickens, goats, and pigs. I also got to see a bunch of other kids and they were almost as interesting as the animals. We all went on this really great tractor ride around the farm and me and Grandma cuddled so I wouldn't be scared or climb over the side. I liked the ride so much I clapped when it was over. Then we went and picked pumpkins! We got four of them, 2 bigger ones for Grandma and Mommy and 2 little ones for me and Cooper. I really liked walking through the pumpkin patch! Snack time was pretty cool too...animal crackers...yummy! But the best part was hanging out with Grandma Donna all morning, I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun if she wasn't there!

It was a great trip and I am so lucky that I get to do cool stuff like that! I am gonna give my teacher a big hug next time I see her to thank her for organizing such a wonderful day!
Of all the days to wake up with a serious case of bedhead! Thank goodness for hairspray!

Wow! I had a great day! When I woke up this morning I found out that all our guests had slept over. I was so excited to see everyone, especially Aunt Leslie..I couldn't take my eyes off her. They had to leave early though so we didn't get to play much.

Today was the monthly Down Syndrome playgroup. We went even though Mommy forgot to call and RSVP. When we got there (late) no one else was there! We waited a while and me and Mommy practiced walking around the big room. I was having a great time but Mommy said we didn't drive all the way to Towson to play all alone! So we left and went to the mall. At first I thought "how lame, the mall!" but then we went to the play area and I was in heaven! Mommy took my shoes off and put me down and I took off to play with the other kids. I had a great time climbing on stuff and under stuff and watching the other kids. I kept trying to climb up the slides (there were two!) but I couldn't do it. Finally Mommy showed me that there were steps too, so I would climb up the steps and slide down the slide. I did spit up twice which really embarrassed Mommy. She said good thing that the play place isn't invitation only...cause we wouldn't have been invited back! Poor Mommy she had to follow me around with a wipe the whole time just in case. All the other mommies got to relax and sit down, but not my Mommy! I loved it so much that when it was time to go I cried! I hope we get to go back soon!!!!

Then this afternoon my speech teacher came over. I did a good job and pointed to my eye again when she told me to. It is official, I know where my eyes are! I also made a sound kinda like "woof woof" when my teacher pointed to a picture of a dog. She was pretty impressed.

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Today was another fun day! I got to go to the playground for physical therapy. It was so much fun I didn't even realize that I was getting therapied! I swung on the swings and walked all around. I had a great time climbing the slide and sliding back down. The best part was that there were lots of other kids there! The place was really hopping!

After we got home Grandma Donna and Grandpop Bill came over and we all had pizza for dinner. Then Cousin Autumn, Aunt Leslie and Uncle Jeff came over. It was such fun to see them. They are spending the night at our house on the way back from Florida! I had a great time hanging out with everyone and stayed up way past my bedtime.

Monday, October 02, 2006

My OT came over today and I was really excited to see her. Every toy she brought out I got so excited I could barely control myself! We played with all the usual stuff. I am getting better at the pop up toy but when she gives me blocks all I want to do is make a train, not stack them. She said she regrets ever showing me how you can push blocks together and make a train, but I think it is the greatest!

Today I watched Blues Clues for the first time, that show rocks! I didn't figure out any of the clues, but I still really liked watching it. We listened to my Milkshake CD for the first time since I learned to dance. I really liked that music and it was really easy to dance to. Me and Mommy had a great time dancing together! I am a much better dancer than she is though.

Tommorow we get to do PT at the playground! I can't wait!

Sunday, October 01, 2006

Today was great! I got to play with Daddy a bunch and then we all went out for a family date. We went to Panera for dinner(thanks Aunt Jean)and it was a really cool place. I had a great time watching all the people and chewing on the really chewy bread. After dinner we went to the mall. When we got there Daddy realized we had a flat tire...don't worry it was on the stroller not the car! So we found a store that sold bicycle pumps and Daddy fixed it. It was a lot smoother ride afterwards. We also went to Old Navy and I got some new shirts...I am gonna be stylin! Old Navy is my and Mommy's favorite store! They didn't have any good hoodless halloween costumes there this year though, oh well.

Then we went to my favorite place, the food court! Mommy bought some ice cream for us to share. Unfortunately the mall was about to close so they were all out of my favorite flavor (vanilla) so we got Chocolate Chip. Everytime I got a chip I kinda freaked out, but ice cream is ice cream and I really enjoyed it. After that we practiced some walking around the big open area of the food court. It was fun but I was tired so all I wanted to do was crawl.
