I had a great time today at PT with Pat Winders! She found this really cool walker thing for me to use. Usually those things scare me and I really hate them. But this one had a little seat on it that made me feel really secure. They strapped me in and I took off! I walked all over the building all by myself. I got to control how fast I went and what direction...it was so cool! I didn't even use the seat (I was too busy walking), but knowing it was there made all the difference! Mommy was so excited she told Pat she was going to steal the walker! She was only kidding though. It is a really expensive walker so Mommy is trying to figure out how to get me one at home. She said she wants to take me to the mall and let me loose! I hope we get a walker at home soon cause that sounds like fun!!!!

Tonight Grandma Donna came over. I had a great time playing with her and she shared her dinner with me, yum! It was a great day!

This isn't Quinn, but this is the walker that he had so much fun walking around with today! I am working hard to figure out how to get him one to use at home!!!

Well, I charmed the pants off that psychologist! I gave her some shy little smiles and had her eating out of my hand. Then I blew her two kisses to seal the deal! She was pretty impressed with me so I don't think she is gonna give me a bad write up or anything. She asked Mommy if I did anything unusual, and Mommy laughed. She said everything I did was unusual, but not in a bad way. I am just a really unique guy....just like my daddy!

This afternoon my speech teacher came over. The rumors are all true, she is leaving at the end of December. I am really going to miss her, we always had so much fun! The bad news is that I probably won't get a new speech teacher. There is a shortage! It is a shame because I am making really good progress. Today I mastered the sign for "book". It is really cute how I do it, I put my hands together like a book, but I do it right under my chin!

Tuesday, November 28, 2006

I had a really fun morning! I played with all my toys and watched some Sesame Street. I was kinda mad when Mommy said I had to take a nap, but then she said it was cause we were going to the playground later! I love the playground! We went to meet Lindalee. It was a really fun PT session, we walked around and swung on the swings. I had such a good time I blew Lindalee a two handed kiss when it was time to go! She and Mommy kept talking about how they couldn't figure out why I won't walk. I wish I could help, but I don't really know myself. Lindalee thinks I am just going to stand up one day and take off...just like I did with sitting!

Daddy had to work late tonight and we really missed him. Mommy had to feed me dinner, change a second dirty diaper of the day, and give me a bath! Usually Daddy does all that! I actually really enjoyed my bath. Me and Mommy had lots of fun splashing in the water! Plus, she is better at not getting water in my eyes than Daddy is. The school district's psychologist is coming over tommorow, Mommy thinks if I smell good she'll say good things about me!

I had a double session again this morning. Both my teacher and my OT came over. I didn't mind too much, it was actually fun! My OT tested me on a couple of things...I am going to be taking lots of tests until I turn 3! I did pretty good. I got partial credit for almost everything. One of the tests was turning the pages of a book...Hello?? I spend half my life looking at books! I aced that one. I got partial points for opening scissors but not cutting with them and also for putting two pieces in a puzzle but not putting the last one in. My teacher didn't test me, we just played.

Tonight me and Mommy went and played on my new climber (see pictures below). It was so much fun! I love that thing!!! We also finally played with my Little People construction worker set. I got it last year but wasn't ready for it yet. I am ready now...it was fun!

Look what we got from a very generous Freecycler! Here Quinn is using his prefered method to get to the top...up the slide.

He worked hard at it, but he finally made it up the slide.

Yay! Quinn loves his new climber!!

Where do I begin??? Today was so awesome! This morning Grandma Donna and Grandpop Bill came over and brought me a new climber with a slide! Well, it wasn't new, Mommy got it off Freecycle, but Grandpop power washed it so it wasn't so dirty anymore. Now it is in my room and I love climbing up the stairs are going down the slide, and climbing up the slide and sliding down the stairs!

After I didn't take a nap (how could I, I was too excited!), we had Burger King for lunch. Their nuggets are even better than McDonalds! Yum-O! Then we all went for a long car ride to see my kinda-cousins Wolfy and Wylde. I had a great time crawling around their house although they didn't have nearly as many toys as I do! We watched them plant a tree (long, gross story), and I ate some yummy crackers. Wolfy didn't want to play with me, all he wanted to do was go outside! I would too if I could run around like he can!

I was so happy to see Great Grandma Berta was here this morning that I clapped for her! I knew that she was going to spend all day playing with me, and I was right! Except when I took a nap, then she and Mommy went shopping. She got me an early Hannuka present while they were out and it is awesome! It is this cool leapfrog drum that has the alphabet on it. Me and Mommy had a great time taking turns hitting the drum to go through all the letters. Thanks Grandma Berta!!!

We also got great news today! My neck x-ray came back normal!!!! That means I get to start horseback riding lessons soon. Yippee!

Today was great! When I woke up Great Grandma Berta was here! I had a really good time playing with her, she is so much fun. She made me forget I wasn't feeling well, even though my nose is still running and I coughed a few times today.

I did something pretty cool today. I wanted to watch TV but it wasn't turned on. Mommy showed me that there was a card with a picture of a TV on it next to the television. She told me if I brought it to her, I could watch Signing Time! So I did! I went and got the card and brought it over to Mommy and she was really impressed. Me and Grandma Berta watched the whole DVD together and it was great.

My speech teacher also came over today and I did a good job with her too. I made some "m" sounds and signed a little. It was a good session!

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Today was not the greatest. I felt sick all day. My nose kept running and I was really cranky. I was supposed to have PT this afternoon but Lindalee is sick too so she cancelled. It is just as well that she didn't come because I seriously woke up on the wrong side of the crib after my nap! I was in such a bad mood I couldn't even eat lunch. All I wanted to do was watch the Wiggles and eat Cheerios. I hope I am in a better mood tommorow cause my Great Grandma Berta is gonna be here! Yay!

Monday, November 20, 2006

This morning was fun. My OT came over and we had a great time playing and coloring. After my nap me and Mommy went to get my neck x-ray. That was not fun. First they tried to get me to sit still and look in a certain direction...yeah right. Then they put me in this horrible contraption to keep me still and I really hated that. See below for a picture Mommy found of it. If you ask me that is child abuse!!! I didn't stop crying until we were halfway home!

When we got home I was pleasently surprised to see Grandpop Bill was there! He stayed for dinner and we played a bunch. He is so much fun!!! He really made me laugh and I had a great time with him even though I was tired and in kinda a bad mood. He didn't share his dinner with me the way Grandma Donna always does though!

I didn't bring a camera....but this is a photo (from the web) of the tourture device that they used to keep Quinn still for the neck x-ray. Just imagine Quinn's face (screaming of course) and the arms were stuck down in the tube for a better view of the neck.

This weekend was great! On Saturday we went to Grandma Jan's house and celebrated Faux-Thanksgiving with Uncle Scott and Aunt Stacey. Their baby Zoe was there too, she makes even more noise than Cooper does, if you can believe that! I had a great time playing with everyone. I wasn't too interested in dinner, but there was ice cream for dessert and that was really yummy! I spent the whole time getting into stuff I wasn't supposed to. I love Grandma's house because it is barely even baby-proofed!

Today we just hung out at home. I mostly slept cause I had a long day yesterday. Tonight we watched Posiedon and I kept clapping every time someone died. Mommy said she thinks it might be time to stop letting me watch grown up movies!

Quinn, Cooper, and their cousin Zoe. This was the only way we could get Quinn to sit still for a picture!

Even though I had runny nose this morning we still went to movement class. It was really fun! We sang and got to climb through the tunnel a bunch. Cooper wanted Mommy to hold him so the teacher helped me with my walking.

This afternoon we went to speech. I spit up all over my jacket right when we walked in...Mommy was not happy. Good thing I was wearing a jacket though! I had a good session, I especially liked when I got to play in the motor room. I showed Miss Jennifer how I can go down the slide backwards. I think she was suprised and impressed. By the time our session was over I was tired and really cranky. When we got home we had pizza for dinner! That cheered me up but I still had to go to bed early.

Thursday, November 16, 2006

We were supposed to do a bunch of stuff today...but we didn't thanks to the weather! It was really bad out there, flooding and tornado warnings. Plus Mommy really hates going out in the rain. Instead we just hung around. We watched Baby Signing Time and played a lot. I took a really long nap and hung out with Daddy instead of going to get a neck x-ray. We probably have to go next week though. I pulled all my books off the shelf and read them all today! I love books! I bet I will like them even more once I understand what all those letters mean!

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

Today was okay. We all woke up late and then played for a while. I played with both of my Snoopy dolls and carried them all around the living room with me. Do you know how hard it is to crawl while I am holding two toys? I didn't get a long enough nap today and I was a mess for my speech teacher. I lost it and couldn't calm down. So my teacher ended up just watching the Wiggles with me and Cooper. Oh well, sometimes I just have an off day, it happens.

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

This morning we just hung out. We didn't do anything too exciting, just watched TV and played. Mommy put me down for a nap, but I refused to sleep. I played instead and she could hear me laughing in my crib the whole time. That probably wasn't too smart cause I was a little tired when it was time for PT. We met Lindalee at the playground cause it was so nice out today. I love doing PT at the playground! I did some walking holding hands, I climbed up a few slides. I decided to go down the slide backwards on my belly today. I have never done that before, I usually go head first on my belly. But since I have recently figured out that I am always supposed to back off of high stuff, I thought I should give that a try. I liked it!

Grandma Donna stopped by tonight, but she only stayed long enough to say hi and give me a kiss. I was hoping she would spend the night again!!!

Monday, November 13, 2006

This morning was really fun! We went over to my new friend Bobby's house for a playdate! The Rose's from down the street were there too. They have two little twin girls a little older than me and a little boy a little younger than me. I loved having so many kids to play with and a whole new big house to explore! It is even more fun to explore now that I have figured out how to open doors. I had a really great time over there, maybe someday Mommy can get her act together and we can have friends over to our house...then again our house is no fun cause there are gates everywhere!

Good news, Mommy talked to the horse lady today and she said as soon as my neck x-ray is cleared I can start learning to ride! The only bad part is I have to wear a helmet. The lady told Mommy to get me a bicycle helmet and have me wear it while I watch my favorite shows and get my favorite foods. That way when I have to put it on for therapy I will associate it with good stuff. That lady doesn't know me...I am not that easy to trick!!!

Sunday, November 12, 2006

I had a really fun weekend! Yesterday we went to the playground with Grandpa Don and Grandma Jan. Then we went to dinner and I ate a yummy grilled cheese sandwich. When Mommy came over to Grandma's to pick me up I ran (crawled really fast) away from her cause I didn't want to leave! I was just having too much fun.

Today we went to Grandma Donna's house to celebrate Uncle Ben and Aunt Sarah's birthdays. I thought it was kinda weird that Aunt Sarah didn't even come to her own party, but I guess she was too busy with her music. I understand, my music is really important to me too! I had a great time playing with my cousins AJ and Jeffrey and also exploring Grandma's house. At dinner I choked on a tortilla and got really upset. So I had to go watch Sesame Street instead of eat dinner. Grandpop Bill has a really awesome huge TV!!! That is definately what I want for Christmas....do you think Santa reads my blog?

He looks so innocent doesn't he....you would never guess that only an hour before there was a very nice vase sitting in that exact spot! Quinn knocked it over and it broke...such a bad little boy! :)

Today was awesome! Me and Mommy went to playgroup this morning. It was just me and two little girls. I still had a great time even though there were no boys there and no boy toys! I had such a good time playing with Maddie and Emma that I blew them both kisses when it was time to go.

This afternoon we went to speech at Loyola. I did a really good job there, I said "all done" twice! And at the right time! Everyone was really impressed. Afterwards we went to the mall. I love the mall because that usually means McDonalds. I ate all four of my nuggets and most of my fries. I also drank most of my chocolate milk...yum!

Thursday, November 09, 2006

We finally made it to Ms. Dorothy's playgroup and it was really fun! There were a bunch of other kids there and we did some serious playing. They had a rice table there but I checked it out and decided I wasn't interested...I prefer sand. We did circle time and I clapped my hands and patted my head for Happy and You Know It. When they pulled out the tunnel everyone was really excited but all the other kids were too scared to go through. Not me! I crawled right on through and everyone clapped for me! I was the only one to do it! Mommy was really proud of me, I could tell. Ms. Dorothy had this cool velcro board with colors on it that I really liked playing with. I am her favorite student so she let me take it home with me! She is the greatest! Oh, I also wore my squeaky shoes and everyone thought they were really cool!

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday cause Grandma Donna slept over, and the computer is in the guest room now. I had so much fun with Grandma Donna. We played and sang and went through clothes together. She shared her dinner with me as usual, it was great. Actually, all of yesterday was great!

In the morning we went with Grandma Jan to the mall to get our pictures taken. I wans't too into it at first but then the lady started tickling me and I was all smiles. While they were taking Cooper's picture I managed to escape into the mall, but Mommy caught me before I got to far. After picture time it was lunch time! We went to the food court and I ate nuggets and fries from McDonalds. I had a great time at the mall!

Today was really fun too! We went to the MOMs Club meeting this morning and I spent the whole time playing with the other kids in the nursery. Mommy stayed with me but that was silly cause I didn't need her! There were lots of neat toys and a cool playhouse that I just loved! Then I found the books and sat down and looked at them for a while. Mommy was really proud of me cause I was the only kid there that even looked at the books. It was sooooo much fun! I can't wait till next month so I can do it again.

This afternoon my speech teacher came over. I did a really good job with her. I signed book and pointed to both my eye and my nose! I am getting to be quite the smarty pants!
My picture, aren't I cute?!

A little blast from the past...Quinn says,"Don't forget to Vote"!
 Posted by Picasa
I got squeaky shoes! I got squeaky shoes! And I love 'em!

Yes, it is yet another stop on Mommy's neverending journey to find the product that is finally going to make me want to walk. This is definately my favorite so far! She got me these sneakers called "Pip Squeakers" and when I step down on them they squeak! And I mean squeak! Loud! I think the squeaking sound is hillarious and the shoes are pretty comfortable. Me and Mommy took a walk around the house and I really enjoyed listening to myself squeak. Then, just as Mommy predicted I would, I figured out how to make them squeak without actually walking on them. First I sat on the floor and spun around in a circle using my feet to push me....squeak! Then I stood next to the sofa and bounced up and down.....squeak, squeak, squeak! It was really fun. Even if the shoes don't help me walk, they sure make me happy. Mommy says it is definately worth fifteen bucks to make me happy!

Besides the new shoes not much else happened today. My OT was supposed to come over but she had to cancel. I just played a bunch and took a long nap.

Mommy says that you should all remember to vote tommorow! Voting is really important, I can't wait until I am 18 so I can do it. Unfortunately she forgot to get me a O'Malley t-shirt! Too bad...I looked so darn cute in my Kerry onesie!

Sunday, November 05, 2006

I had a rough night! We all went out to eat as a family at the buffet place tonight. I was in a really good mood when we got there! I was looking all around, smiling at people, eating french fries and pizza. It was great.....then this guy sat down behind me and hung his big furry coat on the back of his chair. Well, his coat looked just like Portia! So I reached over and grabbed it! Mommy said the "N" word (NO!) and then I totally lost it. I really wanted to pet that guy's coat and I started making my frowny face and crying really loud. Mommy had to ask the guy to put his coat on the other side of their table, but I still couldn't pull it back together. That poor guy probably felt bad that his coat was, as Mommy so eloquently put it, "freaking my kid out".

After I finally calmed down (in the car on the way home), I felt really bad cause I realized I ruined Mommy and Daddy's dinner and I also missed out on ice cream for dessert! Daddy said I must have finally hit my "terrible twos" and Mommy said that we aren't going out to dinner alone like that again for a long time. I guess they expected Cooper to cry, but having both of us cry was just too much. Oh well! For the record, I definitely understand what the word "no" means and I really don't like it!

Saturday, November 04, 2006

Today wasn't a usual Saturday cause Mommy wasn't feeling too good. Instead of us going to Grandma Jan's they came over and picked us up! We went to the Towson mall and I had a great time! We went and played in the little kids area and I did a really good job of sliding down the slides alone. I also stood up for myself this time and if any kids got in my way I just gently pushed them to the side. Then we had nuggets and fries for dinner...it was a perfect night! After I got home it was time for bed and I blew Grandma Jan one of my special kisses!

Friday, November 03, 2006

Today was really fun! Me, Mommy, and Cooper all went to movement class this morning. There was only one teacher and Cooper was being fussy, so I got to crawl most the time instead of walk! It was really fun and I didn't want to go home after. Mommy tried to put me in the bottom stroller seat and I push back and made her fall over backwards into a table! Sorry Mom, but you got the message right? I heard her tell Daddy it was time for Cooper to sit in back!

This afternoon I had speech therapy at Loyola and Daddy got home early so he and Cooper came with us. I had a really good time at speech. I put my lips together for the "m" sound and played really nice in the motor room. When it was time to go I didn't want to leave Ms. Jennifer so I didn't even go to Mommy. I didn't realize we were going to the mall afterwards! I had a great time at the mall. I really enjoyed watching the huge blow up snow globe at JC Penney's. Then we had dinner at the food court. Mommy and me shared so fries and a cinnabon! Mommy was surprised I like the cinnabon cause that is kinda cakey...but it was just too yummy to resist!

Thursday, November 02, 2006

Mommy didn't feel too good today so we didn't do much. I still had a pretty fun day though! I watched a Baby Einstien DVD and played with my toys. I was being mischevous this morning and wouldn't stop climbing up on the coffee table. Mommy wasn't amused but I thought it was hillarious!

The highlight of my day was that Daddy brought me home one of those cool light up balls like I have a Grandma Jan's. I know that I have to throw it to get it to light up, but I can never seem to throw it hard enough! Oh well, that is what parents are for!

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

As you can see from my pictures, I had a great Halloween!!! I got to see three grandmas and a grandpa. I went trick or treating to a couple of houses. I really liked playing with all the candy, but I don't think I am quite ready to eat it yet. Yesterday I aslo got to go to the playground with Mommy. We were supposed to meet Lindalee, but she never showed up. I had a great time anyway!

Today we went to my Down Syndrome playgroup. It was just me and two girls. I like girls and all, but boys are more fun! I was really impressed with Tatum's walking, if a girl can do it, I can do it! I better start trying harder. My speech teacher came over today. She just got back from her honeymoon so she was in a really good mood. I was a good boy today and moved my lips like she wanted and signed "book" twice!

I also need to tell everyone that I now officially blow kisses! Actually, I put my hand up to my lips and then blow raspberries...but people seem to get the idea. Mommy says it is really cute!
